
The music has a heavy rock influence, stemming from Peter’s background in that genre, but various other influences become apparent with each listen, and Ted’s distinct spoken-word style introduces a unique element unheard on other “rock” albums. Between these two artists, they bring a palette of influences that ranges from rock to gospel to blues to classical, not to mention their contrasting songwriting styles and backgrounds. But when these two men of different and diverse backgrounds come together, the result is surprisingly cohesive and engulfing, as Wild Child proves with every track.
